Thanks to donor generosity, the Foundation was able to award seven (7) $500 scholarships this year. The Michael Reinhardt recipients were Joey Culhane, Jordan Honken, and Jonathon Koenen. The Michael Reinhardt applicants were asked to write an essay describing how they have challenged themselves during their lives. The Foundation for R-P Schools recipients were Jordan Honken, Jonathan Koenen, Josh Brown, and Connor Johanson. These applicants were asked to write an essay describing ways they would promote the Foundation's mission. Congratulations to all these students.
Come to beautiful bluff country for the Conquer the Bluff and Tri-City Challenge events. These events start on October 8, 2015 with a 2-mile walk/run up and down the bluffs of Rushford and a meal at the R-P football game. The Tri-City Challenge includes a short and longer distance run/bike/golf event, with lunch and shuttles included. Golf and lunch will be located at one of the most beautiful golf courses in the state, FERNDALE COUNTRY CLUB.
The Tri-City Challenge includes individual, 3-person relay team, and 2-person and 4-person team options. The 2- and 4-person teams will do the run and bike events individually and will team up for golf. Medals will be awarded to top finishers in each category.
Proceeds will benefit the Foundation for R-P Schools (75 percent scholarship, 25 percent general fund).
Thank you to National Honor Society students who made phone calls asking for pledges during the Foundation's second annual scholarship drive. One of the goals of the Foundation for Rushford-Peterson Schools is to promote and award scholarship opportunities (post-high school training or college) to current high school seniors and alumni of Rushford-Peterson Schools. Once again the drive was successful as $2,683.00 has been collected so far. This surpasses last year's total of $2,200. Thank you to all community members for your generous donations.
